The Arabidopsis thaliana haploid genome is composed of five chromosomes thar are almost comletely sequenced. The chromosomal sequence data is desribed by members of the The Arabidopsis Genome Initiative.

We have estimated that copies of transposable elements related to these deposited in Repbase Update constitute ~11% of the A. thaliana genome.
