Title:
Itch: a new lineage of non-LTR retrotransposons from ticks.
Journal:
Repbase Reports 23(7), 4434-4434 (2023)
Abstract:
~99% identical to consensus. 5'-truncated. Itch is a new lineage of non-LTR retrotransposons found from divergent tick species, at least from 5 genera (Dermacentor, Haemophysalis, Hyalomma, Ixodes, and Rhipicephalus). It encodes two proteins, and the second protein contains three domains: apurinic-like endonuclease, reverse transcriptase, and ribonuclease H. The phylogenetic analysis indicates Itch belongs to the I group.
