Abstract:
The consensus sequence was derived from multiple alignment of ~100 copies that are less than 2% diverged from the consensus. The 3'-terminus is composed of the (TACC)n microsatellite. The ORF2-encoded protein, composed of the standard AP endonuclease, reverse transcriptase and RNase H domains, does not have the starting Met; therefore, its translation includes ribosomal frameshift.
