Abstract:
Insertion sites are identical to those of NeSL-1 in C. elegans. This consensus is generated from 6 sequences. This sequence was derived from sequence data generated by Genome Sequencing Center at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. The spliced leader exon-specific non-LTR retrotransposon family, NeSL, was reported from Caenorhabditis elegans [1]. Here we report NeSL elements from six other Caenorhabditis species: C. angaria, C. brenneri, C. briggsae, C. japonica, C. remanei and C. sp. 11 MAF-2010. The target sites are the same among the NeSL elements whose termini were determined, with the exception of NeSL-3_CBre, which targets a putative transposon (TE-1_CBre) including a part of spliced leader sequence.
