Abstract:
Sagan is a new group of DNA transposons belonging to the Mariner/Tc1/IS630 superfamily. But there is an insertion between D and E in the encoded DDE-transposase. The conserved DDE residues are D366, D462, and E617. Sagan-1_RO shares several features with other Mariner/Tc1/IS630, such as TA TSDs and short (32-bp) TIRs.
