Abstract:
Sagan is a new group of DNA transposons belonging to the Mariner/Tc1/IS630 superfamily. But there is an insertion between D and E in the encoded DDE-transposase. The conserved DDE residues are D376, D482, and E615. Sagan-1_ALai shares several features with other Mariner/Tc1/IS630, such as TA TSDs and short (34-bp) TIRs.
