Abstract: This, together with Ingi-1_AAl are the first reported sequences of the Ingi elements in mammals. The presence of Ingi in mammals was reported previously (see reference in Ingi-1_AAl). The family expanded relatively recently in the European hedgehog (>98% identity to consensus). This sequence was derived from sequence data generated by Broad Institute Mammalian Genome Project.
