Abstract:
Cre-2_BM is a family of non-LTR retrotransposons that belong to the CRE clade. The silkworm genome contains >100 copies of Cre-2_BM that are ~99% identical to the consensus sequence. Most copies of Cre-2_BM are 5' truncated. The silkworm genome contains several families of Cre non-LTR retrotransposons.
