Abstract: Cre-1_NV belongs to the CRE clade of non-LTR retrotransposons. The nematostella genome contains >10 copies of Cre-1_NV that are ~98% identical to the consensus sequence. Usually Cre-1_NV elements are inserted into (ATT)n microsatellites. The nematostella genome contains several families of Cre non-LTR retrotransposons.
