Title:
Autonomous Transib transposons from the hydra genome.

Abstract:
Transib-13_HM is a young family of autonomous Transib DNA transposons that were active in the hydra genome less than a few million years ago (copies are ~3% divergent from their consensus sequence). The consensus sequence was obtained based on multiple alignment of 7 copies; it codes for a 754-aa Transib transposase. Like other Transib transposons, Transib-13_HM is characterized by 5-bp target site duplications and short terminal inverted repeats.
