Abstract:
Kolobok-5_TV is a consensus sequence of a family of autonomous Kolobok transposons that were active in the T. vaginalis genome in a last few million years. The Kolobok-5_TV transposon is characterized by 20-bp terminal inverted repeats, TTAA target site duplications, and it encodes the 833-aa Kolobok-5_TV1p transposase. Kolobok transposons, including numerous families of non-autonomous elements, constitute >2% of the T. vaginalis genome. See also comments in Kolobok-1_XT.
