CALYPSHAN_MT: LTR retroposon from barrel medic.

Abstract:
The internal region shows characteristic features of a Gypsy-like LTR retroposon with arrangement of domains in a pattern of gag-protease-RT polymerase-RNAse-Integrase. Two ORFs are present. In general the element is present in the genome with high copy number but most of them are incomplete or interrupted with just ~10 intact copies. The copy number, size of internal region and LTRs indicate that this element can belong to CALYPSO group of Gypsy-like retroposons.
