Abstract:
hAT-1_DP is a family of autonomous hAT DNA transposons. The genome harbors over 10 copies of hAT-1_DR that are less than 1% divergent from the consensus sequence. These elements are characterized by 8-bp target site duplications and 11-bp terminal inverted repeats (1 mismatch). The consensus sequence encodes the 596-aa hAT-1_DPp transposase (pos. 417-2204). hAT-1N_DP is a nonautonomous family derived from hAT-1_DP.
