Abstract:
There are 11 full-length copies of this DNA transposon in the rice genome with >93% similarity to the consensus. Generates 3 bp target site duplications; and has 23 bp imperfect TIRs. A 1073 codon ORF contains a conserved Tnp2 type transposase domain similar to that found in other En/Spm transposons. OSTE22 may be a non-autonomous subfamily of this autonomous element.
