Abstract:
Average similarity to consensus of full-length copies is ~96%. There are two ORFs, the first of unknown function; the second putatively encodes typical ERV proteins including integrase, reverse transcriptase. Copies are flanked by 4 bp TSDs. The corresponding 618 bp LTR is ERV3_MD_LTR. This consensus was reconstructed from the June 2005 release of the 6.8X WGS sequence.
