Title:

Abstract:
GYPSY30_AG is a family of gypsy-like LTR retrotransposons that, according to the aminoacid sequence of its Reverse Transcriptase, is phylogenetically grouped with representatives of the MDG3 lineage of other organisms. GYPSY29_AG, GYPSY31_AG, GYPSY32_AG, GYPSY33_AG, GYPSY34_AG, GYPSY35_AG, GYPSY36_AG, GYPSY37_AG and GYPSY38_AG are other members of this same lineage in Anopheles gambiae. The GYPSY30-I_AG consensus was reconstructed after multiple alignment of 3 copies. The consensus encodes the 1469-aa GYPSY30_AGp gag-pol like poliprotein (pos. 35-4441). The sequence of the LTRs flanking GYPSY30-I_AG is deposited as GYPSY30-LTR_AG.
