Abstract:
Gypsy8-I_DR is an internal portion of the Gypsy8_DR LTR retrotransposon that belongs to the Gypsy superfamily. Its long terminal repeat is deposited in Repbase as Gypsy8-LTR_DR. Gypsy8_DR is characterized by 4-bp target site duplications. The internal portion encodes two proteins: the 622-aa gag-like Gypsy8_DR-1p (pos. 93-1958) and 1557-aa pol Gypsy8_DR-2p (pos. 1985-6655). The primer-binding site (PBS) is complementary to the Arg-tRNA.
