Title:
HARBINGER2_DR, an autonomous Harbinger-like DNA transposon from zebrafish.
Journal:
Repbase Reports 3:(9) p. 180 (2003)
Abstract:
HARBINGER2_DR is an autonomous Harbinger-like DNA transposon. It is characterized by 13-bp TIRs and the CAG target site duplication. The zebrafish genome harbors ~100 HARBINGER2N_DR nonautonomous elements derived from HARBINGER2_DR. The HARBINGER2N_DR consensus sequence is nearly identical to HARBINGER2_DR (only 4 indels, it matches positions 1-603 and 3311-3727). HARBINGER2_DR encodes two proteins, the 276-aa HARBINGER2_DR-1p (2 exons, positions 642-1437 and 1558-1592) and the 368-aa HARBINGER2_DR-2p transposase (positions 2140-3246). HARBINGER2_DR-1p is similar to Myb-like proteins present in different eukaryotes.
