Abstract:
ATHAT10 is an ancient autonomous hAT-like DNA transposon. There are several copies of ATHAT10 present in the genome. They are ~95% identical with the consensus sequence. ATHAT10 has 12-bp terminal inverted repeats and encodes the ~670-aa ATHAT10p transposase (there is one false frame shift at position ~1350). The ATHATN10 DNA transposon is a nonautonomous derivative of ATHAT10.
