Abstract:
ATCOPIA82_I is an internal region of the ATCOPIA82 copia-like endogenous retrovirus flanked by the 98% identical ATCOPIA82LTR long terminal repeats, and a 5-bp target-site duplication (TTGGT). ATCOPIA82 forms a separate family of copia-like retroviruses present in the A. thaliana genome. ATCOPIA82_I encodes (positions 14-4279) well preserved remnants of the ~1422-aa ATCOPIA82p copia-like polyprotein. A false stop codons at position 1756 corresponds to H (based on polyproteins most close to ATCOPIA82p).
