Abstract:
ATCOPIA77_I is an internal region of the ATCOPIA77 copia-like endogenous retrovirus flanked by the 97% identical ATCOPIA77LTR long terminal repeats, and a 5-bp target-site duplication (CTTTG). ATCOPIA77_I's CDS, which encodes remnants of the ATCOPIA77p copia-like polyprotein, is slightly damaged by false stop codons and other mutations. ATENSPM1A transposon is inserted into ATCOPIA77_I and flanked by the CTA target site duplication. ATENSPM1A and the CTA repeat are removed from the ATCOPIA77_I sequence described here.
