Title:
Ambal retrotransposons in the pennate diatom genome.
Journal:
Repbase Reports 14(8), 2088-2088 (2014)
Abstract:
The genome contains many families of Ambal non-LTR retrotransposons. Similar to Ambal retrotransposons in diatoms, Ambal-1_PMul is acompanied by its non-autonomous derivates (with conserved ~100-bp 5' and 3' termini). Ambal-1_PMul elements are flanked by 18-20 bp TSDs. The ~3-kb region between the end of ORF1 and beginning of ORF2 is composed of a minisatellite array.
