Abstract:
Insertion sites are identical to those of NeSL-1 in C. elegans. This is the only full-length copy in the C. remanei genome. This sequence was derived from sequence data generated by Genome Sequencing Center at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. The spliced leader exon-specific non-LTR retrotransposon family, NeSL, was reported from Caenorhabditis elegans [1]. Here we report NeSL elements from six other Caenorhabditis species: C. angaria, C. brenneri, C. briggsae, C. japonica, C. remanei and C. sp. 11 MAF-2010. The target sites are the same among the NeSL elements whose termini were determined, with the exception of NeSL-3_CBre, which targets a putative transposon (TE-1_CBre) including a part of spliced leader sequence.
