Abstract: Chapaev3-1_HM belongs to the Chapaev3 group of the Chapaev superfamily of DNA transposons (see comments on Chapaev3-1_PM). Chapaev3-1_HM is a very young family of lamprey Chapaev3 transposons: genomic copies of Chapae3-1_HM elements are ~99% identical to their consensus sequence, which was derived from multiple alignment of eight Chapaev3-1_HM elements. Chapaev3-1_HM contains 13-bp terminal inverted repeats and encodes a 558-aa transposase.
