Title:
hAT-12_XT, a family of autonomous hAT DNA transposons from frog.
Journal:
Repbase Reports 6(9), 465-465 (2006)
Abstract:
hAT-12_XT elements belong to an autonomous family of hAT DNA transposons characterized by 8-bp TSDs and 18-bp TIRs. The genome harbors only several copies of hAT-12_XT (~95% identical to the consensus). The consensus sequence is probably incomplete; the N-terminal portion of the hAT transposase is not encoded by the consensus. The consensus sequence contains an insertion of the CR1-1A_XT retrotransposon, which is masked by Ns.
