Title:
NonLTR-5_CR, a putative long nonautonomous non-LTR retrotransposons in the green algae genome.
Journal:
Repbase Reports 6(5), 259-259 (2006)
Abstract:
This transposable element is a putative non-LTR retrotransposon, characterized by ~15-bp target site duplications and frequent truncation of 5' terminal portions. Despite its length this element does not encode recognizable reverse transcriptase/endonuclease. Most likely it is a nonautonomous non-LTR retrotransposon. Although NonLTR-5_CR contains long two long ORFs in different frames, they seem to be meaningless. NonLTR-5_CR (pos. 3468-5270) is 69% identical to L1-3_CR (pos. 456-1990).
