CR1-19_SP, a family of non-LTR retrotransposons from the sea urchin genome.

Abstract:
CR1-19_SP is a non-LTR retrotransposon that belongs to the CR1 clade. Copies of CR1-19_SP are ~3% divergent form the consensus sequence. The consensus sequence is incomplete due to 5' truncations of CR1-19_SP elements upon their retrotranspositions. CR1-19_SP encodes a 998-aa protein (pos. 295-3288) composed of the endonuclease and reverse transcriptase domains. The 3' terminus of CR1-19_SP is composed of the (AACTTG) microsatellite.
