Title:
ERV18_MD, a prolific ERV1 class retroelement from the opossum M. domestica.

Abstract:
One of the more prolific ERVs in Monodelphis, there are several thousand large (>2kb) fragments of the internal region in the genome, with similarity to the consensus above 85%. The corresponding LTR is ERV18_MD_LTR. This consensus was reconstructed from the June 2005 release of the 6.8X WGS sequence.
