Abstract:
Copies around 83-84% similar to the consensus. RTE-3_MD shows no similarity to the other RTE elements in Monodelphis (RTE-1_MD and RTE-2_MD), but is similar to RTE-like elements in viper and cow (BOVB, BOVB_VA). Based on similar age distributions and target site lengths, and sequence similarity, the SINE SINE-1_MD may have been mobilized by RTE-3_MD. This consensus was reconstructed from the June 2005 release of the 6.8X WGS sequence.
