Abstract:
Genomic copies of this fragment of L1 are ~80% similar to the consensus. There are approximately 198000 hits to this sequence in the current genome assembly, making it the most prolific of the L1s identified so far, in terms of number of copies. This consensus was reconstructed from the June 2005 release of the 6.8X WGS sequence.
