Abstract:
A relatively young L1 that has been active recently, and may continue to be so. Many full-length genomic copies are >99.5% similar to the consensus. Copies are flanked by 16-17 bp target site duplications. There are around 88000 copies of the element in the genome assembly. This consensus was reconstructed from the June 2005 release of the 6.8X WGS sequence.
