Abstract: CR1-3_SP is a family of CR1 non-LTR retrotransposons. The genome harbors ~1000 copies of CR1-3_SP that are ~90% identical to their consensus sequence. The consensus sequence represents the 3' terminal portion of the autonomous CR1-3_SP retrotransposon. It encodes the C-terminal portion of reverse transcriptase. The 3' terminus is composed of the (ATGT) microsatellite.
