Abstract: MirageN1a_CB is a subfamily of MirageN1_CB nonautonomous DNA transposons that belongs to theMirage superfamily detected previously in the C. elegans genome. These elements are characterized by 15-bp terminal invertedrepeats and 2-bp target site duplications, they are over 97%identical to the MirageN1a_CB consensus sequence. This consensus sequence is 87% identical to the MirageN1b_CB consensus sequence representing the MirageN1b_CB subfamily.MirageN1a_CB and MirageN1b_CB are nonautonomous transposons whose autonomous counterparts were relatives of Mirage1_CB.
