Title:
Mirage1_CB, an autonomous DNA transposon from the Caenorhabditis briggsae genome
Journal:
Repbase Reports 4:(6) p. 186 (2004)
Abstract:
Mirage1_CB is an autonomous DNA transposon that belongs to the Mirage superfamily detected previously in the C. elegans genome. The consensus sequences was reconstructed from several 99% identical copies. It contains 15-bp terminal inverted repeats and it encodes the 1039-aa Mirage1_CBp transposase (pos. 420-4479; 13 exons). This transposon is characterized by 2-bp target site duplications. MirageN1a_CB and MirageN1b_CB are nonautonomous transposons whose autonomous counterparts were relatives of Mirage1_CB.
