Abstract:
GYPSY67_AG is a family of gypsy-like LTR retrotransposons that, according to the aminoacid sequence of its reverse transcriptase, RNase and integrase domains is phylogenetically grouped with representatives of the mag lineage of other organisms. GYPSY19_AG, GYPSY20_AG, GYPSY21_AG, GYPSY22_AG, GYPSY23_AG, GYPSY24_AG, GYPSY25_AG, GYPSY26_AG, GYPSY27_AG, GYPSY28_AG, GYPSY55_AG, GYPSY56_AG, GYPSY57_AG, GYPSY58_AG, GYPSY59_AG, GYPSY60_AG, GYPSY61_AG, GYPSY62_AG, GYPSY63_AG, GYPSY64_AG, GYPSY65_AG, GYPSY66_AG, GYPSY68_AG and GYPSY69_AG, are other members of this same lineage in Anopheles gambiae. The GYPSY67-I_AG consensus was reconstructed after multiple alignment of 5 copies. The consensus encodes the 1529-aa GYPSY67_AGP gag-pol like poliprotein (pos. 117-4703). The sequence of the LTRs flanking GYPSY67-I is deposited as GYPSY67-LTR_AG.
