Abstract: piggyBac1N_CI is a family of nonautonomous elements related to the piggyBac superfamily. The consensus was reconstructed from 10 copies 98% identical to it. piggyBac1N_CI elements are flanked by the TTAA target site duplications, and have 13-bp terminal inverted repeats. The piggyBac1N_CI family was derived from an autonomous element similar to piggyBac1_CI.
