Abstract: HATN3_CI is a family of nonautonomous elements related to the hAT superfamily. There are ~100 HATN3_CI elements in the C. intestinalis genome, they are 98% identical to the consensus. There are also several hundred elements that are 65-85% identical to HATN3_CI and represent several young subfamilies related to it. HATN3_CI i flanked by 16-bp terminal inverted repeats.
