Abstract: ATCOPIA64_I is an internal region of the ATCOPIA64 copia-like endogenous retrovirus flanked by the identical ATCOPIA64LTR long terminal repeats, and by a 5-bp target-site duplication. ATCOPIA64_I encodes well preserved remnants of the ATCOPIA64p copia-like polyprotein, which is slightly disrupted by a few false stop codons.
