Abstract: ATCOPIA53_I is an internal region of the ATCOPIA53 copia-like endogenous retrovirus flanked by the 95% identical ATCOPIA53LTR long terminal repeats, and a 5-bp target-site duplication (AGAAT). The ATCOPIA53_I CDS, which encodes the ATCOPIA53p copia-polyprotein, is slightly corrupted by a few mutations.
